Eligibility requirements for potential consumers: 

Applicant Must: 
  • Have a developmental or intellectual disability 
  • Be at least 18 years of age, and be a resident of Cabarrus, Rowan or Davie Counties 
  • Be ambulatory and possess self-help skills in eating and toileting, with reasonable accommodations
  • Be screened by one of our MCO's 
  • Have current medical and psychological evaluation report well as documentation indicating guardianship 
  • Be willing to participate 

Admission is contingent upon availability of space within the program and the admission committee's opinion of staff competency to provide habilitation / rehabilitation services to clients.

A Day at Cabarrus Vocational Opportunities: 

8:00 a.m. - clock in and report to department for training

Mid-Day: Clients eat packed lunches (vending machines and microwaves are available) 

 Afternoon: Clients return to departments for additional training

3:30 p.m.: Clients depart workshop to return home 

(Each client has the opportunity to earn a bi-weekly paycheck) 

Each client's support team assists the client in choosing the program which best meets his/her needs. Program options are discussed during the intake process.
